North Coast Job Seekers is a job search support group for professionals in transition or those who are currently employed but seeking new career options. We provide tools, tips, resources, techniques and networking opportunities to help maximize a job search. If in transition, or want to explore new career options, we encourage attending North Coast Job Seekers meetings.
"North Coast" refers to the geographic region of NE Ohio, particularly the metropolitan Cleveland area (which is on the shores of Lake Erie, hence the "North Coast" of the U.S.). However the resources available here are offered to any who might benefit from them.

North Coast Job Seekers Meeting
Presentation: "Careers, Jobs, Planning, Surviving, and Thriving in the New Economy"
Speaker: Joe Ortenzi
You need a new mindset! In the current job market, you need to consider yourself self-employed. There are no long-term social contracts for employment, if they ever existed.
The Cheshire Cat might be the best example of where most of us have been with careers and jobs. With an ever changing, dynamic job market, finding stable employment is a difficult challenge. We live in an age where jobs include temporary, part-time, downsizing, core employees, contracted services, specialized skills, reduced benefits, and self-employment
"Would you tell me, please, which way I ought to go from here?"
"That depends a good deal on where you want to get to," said the Cat.
"I don't much care where," said Alice.
"Then it doesn't matter which way you go," said the Cat.
"So long as I get somewhere," Alice added as an explanation.
"Oh, you're sure to do that," said the Cat, "if you only walk long enough."
Principal at Skills Enrichment, Joe Ortenzi has more than four decades experience putting difficult-to-place individuals in satisfying employment. During this time he has learned how to break through the clutter and make his clients stand out among the multitudes of job seekers.

NETWORKING AND JOB SEARCH "JOYS & CONCERNS"
Join with other NCJS members and leaders for constructive networking, job search troubleshooting, sharing what's going well and what is not, and collaborating on job leads.
Whether new to a job search or weary from the process, being with others "in the trenches" can be extremely beneficial. NCJS offers a constructive environment in which to share challenges and frustrations as well as offering good leads and encouragement to others. The "Networking and Issue Sharing" meetings are structured to capitalize on the people resources of NCJS, network with well-connected colleagues, and open doors to new possibilities. You will help others and gain traction for your own job search.
Career transitions are seldom easy. The many pieces of a job search can be overwhelming, and fitting those pieces together to find your next position can be tricky. North Coast Job Seekers wants to provide support, training, and resources as you go through your job search.
NCJS is a completely volunteer organization bringing together those in job transition with leaders, presenters, resources, and other job seekers. Job seekers themselves bring a multitude of resources to NCJS with knowledge, experience, skills, and professional networks. Together we share a mission to help motivated people succeed through career changes.
North Coast Job Seekers meets in the Gym/Fellowship Hall of Pioneer Memorial Presbyterian Church in Solon, Ohio at 7:30pm on the second and fourth Monday of the month. We actively network, discuss job search issues, and get terrific tips from job search experts. If you are in transition or want to explore new career options, we encourage you to start attending North Coast Job Seekers meetings.
If you're not part of the online discussions, job leads, and networking with NCJS, join the NCJS LinkedIn Group now to expand your job search resources.
